Plug the price of this home into the mortgage calculator to the right, and you get a monthly payment more attractive than rent for a similar home. Hm, wonder why the person who bought this north Redding home for $220,000 in 2005 defaulted? And we wonder how many more out there are doing the same. Some things are unknowable. We do know that the bank/seller on this home is being represented by foreclosure listing agent Bob Mitchell of Real Living Real Estate Professionals. He writes:
“No closet in third bedroom. Located in a cul-de-sac, mountain views, green belt, RV parking and so much more!!Move in ready!! Fresh interior paint and carpets. Green space at back of property. Wood stove missing but the nice brick surround is there.”
Rooms with “No closet in the third bedroom,” are referred to by appraisers as Not Bedrooms. Still, our WAG is that this one may well appraise at asking price. And competition for homes in Redding priced under the $150K level has been heating up, due to the rent vs buy realization. Care to see it?
