Only 111 foreclosures for sale today in the Shasta MLS. That’s a really low number lately. We think it might be like when a big wave is about to hit the seashore, and the water level abruptly drops as the wave builds. Maybe. The good deals have been selling fast. Anyway there wasn’t much new today, so we went looking for the oldest REO property in the list. This foreclosed manufactured home has been on the market since 2010, a total of 434 days. That’s a while. We don’t usually post manufactured homes here, but we like Shasta Forest village, with its whimsical named streets, and tall pines singing in the breezes. The home looks pretty darn livable for under $50K. And to be clear, while it once listed for $238K, it actually sold later in 2006 for $160K. So close! Now, the listing says it’s a 1977 built 3/2 of about 1440 sqft located on a .7 acre lot. Representing the seller is foreclosure listing agent Ed Garcia of Coldwell Banker. He writes:
“Bring all offers for this Three bedroom, two bath mobile home on permanent foundation in Shasta Forest Village. Large lot with beautiful tall trees covered front porch and storage shed. With a little work this could make a great vacation or year round home. This home/property is an REO and being sold as is. Seller says bring offer. Lets make a deal.”
Yes, lets do that. It’s been listed more than year. Care to see it?
